GIA's Focus
In 2023, GIA completed a strategic planning process that affirmed an organizational commitment to work toward the following key goals:
- Directly impacting the health and wellbeing of people in later life through increased financial resources or changes to public policy.
- Helping decrease data-driven disparities in later life experienced by people who have been most affected by systems of oppression.
- Creating more age-integrated communities.
- Contributing to reducing ageism in funding, policy, and public discourse.
- Advancing more equitable philanthropic practice.
As we help funders connect, collaborate, and co-fund, we focus our programs and other offerings in the following priority areas: caregiving; equity in aging; impact investing; Multisector Plans for Aging; Reframing Aging; rural aging; and serious illness and end-of-life.
